Happy Ponies to Enjoy a Fabulous Retirement

Fanta & Margherita, two Ham Polo Club legends have been retired and will now be in the kind care of Lucy so their fans will still be able to say hello; the Club would like to to thank Lucy very much.

The Big Question- when will we play polo?
The answer is that we do not know however, we are putting plans together so that we are ready to go as soon as the government unveils the plans for the end of lockdown.  The ponies take 4-6 weeks to prepare from when they arrive back home at Ham and we are hoping that we can bring them in towards the latter half of May.  The Club will operate within the parameters set by the government and the HPA which is likely to affect how we will play as well as when.  We are hopeful, like other polo clubs that we will be able to get almost half a season of play and of course be able to welcome spectators.  We are working on plans with Blue Strawberry to be able to provide picnics and bbqs to allow everyone to attend with social distancing in mind.

Further questions...
What is happening at the Club? the team is slimmed down for the reduced operations, the grass is being maintained, some horses are in livery however, the Club remains closed
If you reopen, will you run the remainder of the season as normal? this will entirely depend on any restrictions that the government enforces after the main lockdown has been released.
Will you play any missed tournaments? if it is possible to do so we will of course try and play as much of the season as we can
Could the season go on later?  this is all weather dependent and the last couple of years have not set a great track record!
Contacting the Club...   We would please ask everyone to refer to the website initially for information and to otherwise email on office@hampoloclub.com; your patience is very much appreciated.
