Polo School

For those who are not satisfied with just spectating we also offer polo lessons. Ham Polo Club has a number of HPA qualified coaches and a string of quiet school ponies for people to learn on. The polo school offers several ways to learn the sport.
Individual lessons- the fastest way to pick up polo is to book in for private lessons with one of our coaches. The session will last one hour and horse hire is included.
Group lessons- This option offers the chance to learn to play in a group with friends. Again the session will last one hour and will be spent on the polo ponies working on riding skills and hitting the ball. Lessons can be booked for groups of up to 10 people. Packages for group bookings on a Sunday can be arranged to include lunch in the club house enclosure or a gourmet picnic.
Instructional Chukkas- In order to provide learner players with a safe introduction to competitive polo we will be running instructional chukkas every Saturday. The coaches will be on the field with their pupils making sure you learn the right techniques and have fun.

Polo Experience days- These are excellent as corporate entertainment or private parties and are tremendous fun. Clients start with a full morning of polo tuition with our coaches. The group will be instructed with hand sticks, on the wooden horse and on the real polo ponies. Lunch will then either be served in our club house or guests will be taken in the golf buggies along the river
After lunch we can arrange to have a match played for clients to watch, our coaches will still be on hand to explain what is happening on the field. Sundays are our match days and so different packages can be arranged to include either a gourmet picnic or a served lunch in a private area overlooking the polo.
